If you’re a fan of Quentin Tarantino’s classic 1992 crime thriller, Reservoir Dogs, then it’s going to be a bloody good day. Independent game publisher Big Star Games has launched Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days, an action-strategy shooter, to Windows PC and Mac via Steam and Twitch Games Commerce. In addition, Big Star plans to release the game on consoles later this year, though it hasn’t specified which ones yet.
Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days lets you vent your bloodlust by controlling any of the six main characters from the film -- Mr. Blonde, Mr. Blue, Mr. Brown, Mr. Orange, Mr. Pink, and Mr. White – through 18 different heists. Each character has a unique ability, such as Mr. Blonde’s Adrenaline Rush ability to give the team more time to accomplish goals or Mr. Pink’s power to grab 15% more loot after every heist.
The game’s hook is its Time Rewind mechanic that allows you to rewind time to get yourself (or one of your cohorts) out of a sticky situation, change strategies, and magically resurrect fallen comrades. And it’s a good thing you’ve got this ability, too – there are no health packs and limited ammo. So if you die, you’ll have to start a heist all over again.
Says Liam Patton, CEO of Big Star Games: “We created the Time Rewind mechanic to let players toy with time just as Quentin Tarantino did, adding a new layer of strategy to top-down shooter games that will appeal to hardcore gamers and film fans alike.”
Considering that this year is the 25th anniversary of the cult classic’s release, Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days is launching at an opportune time. Be sure to check out the launch trailer below:
